The Environment Moves into a New Community Hub
The OLD Adelaide Central Bus Station Depot on the corner of Franklin and Bowden streets has been transformed into a community hub focused on the environment and sustainable living to be known as 'The Joinery'.
Conservation SA, South Australia's peak environmental organisation, has set up this new space to be a home for like-minded organisations who want to provide information and opportunities for everyone in the community to get involved.
They share the space with tenants Conservation Volunteers Australia, Australian Youth Climate Coalition, the Urban Natural Resource Centre and others.
All these organisation are excited about being part of a nurturing and bustling space connecting nature, creativity and community in the heart of Adelaide.
The vision for the centre has been achieved with community art, a café serving local and seasonal food, a lush productive community garden, hold educational workshops and have affordable meeting spaces.
