Christmas promotion wins major Award
It was an exciting night at the Mainstreet SA Award dinner when Grote Business Precinct won a Mainstreet Marketing Award for its 2016 Big Santa Parade and Mystery Codeword Competition.
The award recognises outstanding examples of the creative use of marketing and promotion including print, press, signage, radio, TV and digital components to successfully attract customers and raise the profile of the mainstreet, laneway, town centre or precinct.
The Award, presented by Nichola Kapitza of Renewal SA, was accepted on behalf of Grote Business Precinct by Past President, Bill Marles of Katron Creative, and Precinct Coordinator Yvonne Merendi. They thanked Mainstreet SA for recognising the creativity and effort put into the promotion and the City of Adelaide for its support.
The Big Santa Parade and Mystery Codeword Competition were very successful for local businesses and hugely popular with the general public. The parade along Grote Street and through Adelaide Central Market, Chinatown and arcades had members of the public busily snapping photos and was a strong start to the competition which offered a $4,000 South Australian holiday as the major prize.
The Award is timely as the Big Santa Mystery Codeword Competition 2017 will be launched on Friday 17th November with another Parade of Big Santas along Grote Street and surrounds from 6 till 7pm.
