Guide Dogs Day 2026: A Precinct-Wide Celebration
A Morphett Street tenant for over 20 years, Guide Dogs SA/NT is proud to be part of the Grote Street Business Precinct and community.
For over 65 years, Guide Dogs SA/NT has been supporting people with blindness and low vision to live independently, safely and with confidence within the community. While many know us for our iconic Guide Dogs, we also provide specialised Vision Services, run social and educational programs for clients, offer Human Guide Training and deliver education sessions to improve accessibility and inclusion.
Guide Dogs Day is our major annual fundraising and awareness campaign, with activities building throughout April, leading up to the official day on Wednesday, 29 April 2026. Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and the wider community, Guide Dogs Day 2025 raised an incredible $338,000 to support people living with low vision, blindness and other specialised needs. In 2026, we're aiming even higher, and we'd love more Grote Street precinct businesses to join the celebration and help raise funds!
Getting involved is simple and flexible and it's a chance for businesses of all sizes to show visible support for an important community cause and engage your staff and customers in a meaningful way.
Ways Grote Street businesses can get involved:
Gift Proceeds – Donate a set amount, a percentage of sales, or full proceeds from a product or limited-edition menu item (like a Puppuccino, aPAWrol spritz or hot dog) on Guide Dogs Day.
Host a Collection Dog – Place a coin collection dog on your counter during April.
Host a Fundraiser – Organise a morning tea, charity walk, or gold coin activity to rally your staff, customers and our community for a paw-some cause.
Sell Merchandise – Sell our limited-edition Guide Dogs Day merchandise on your front counter (bandanas, badges and more), with all proceeds supporting Guide Dogs SA/NT.
Paint the Town Orange – Join local landmarks and businesses by lighting your building Guide Dogs orange, decorating your shopfront, or sharing our campaign message on digital screens.
Become a Corporate Partner – Donate $5,000 or more to become a corporate partner of the Guide Dogs Day campaign.
Every local business, big or small, can make a difference for people who are blind or have low vision. Guide Dogs Day offers an engaging and community-focused way to contribute, while connecting your business with one of Australia's most trusted charities.
