Bastille Day

Vive la France at the Adelaide Central Market on 10 and 11 July.  Join us for a weekend of Champagne poured cold, accordion tunes in the aisles, flaky pastries, and beautiful French cheeses.  Authentic French flavours, guided tours, live music, workshops, roaming performers celebrating French culture.  

Carmen at the Market -  Friday 10 July @ 6pm  Free Gouger Dining Area.

State Opera SA will b ring the spirit of French opera with a performance inspired by Bizet's beloved Carmen running from 17-24 October at Her Majesty's Theatre. 

Le Tour du Marche Friday 10 July @ 4.30pm, 6pm, 7pm, Saturday 11 July 9.30am and 11am.  $30 per person bookings essential 

Join tour guide and performer Arnaud Benassy for all things French.  A glass of champagne, learn some French, discover traditions and taste forage, charcuterie and patisserie from The Smelly Cheese Co and Les Deux Coqs.  

Butter Churning Demo  Saturday 11 July 11.30 free in the community kitchen.  Discover the art of traditional butter making in an interactive demo hosted by Normandie-born Valerie Henbest.  At the end sample the freshly churned butter on a tasty slice of baguette.  

Basille Day after dark.  Join Valerie and the Smelly Cheese Co team for a unique Cheese After Dark that acknowledges the 100th year of Claude Monet's passing with live music and a painter in residence as well as cheese, oysters, caviar, wine and champagne. 

Karaoke Francais  Friday 10 July @ 6.30pm  $5 per person.  Bookings essential.  Community Kitchen.  Learn some French, sing along and grab a glass of bubbles from the Champagne bar.  

Cupcake Decorating for little bakers. Friday 10 July sessions from 9.30am till 11.45am. $5 per child.  Bookings essential.
